The Capital District Counseling Association (CDCA) is a chapter of the New York Counseling Association (NYCA).
CDCA encompasses many divisions of counselors including School, Mental Health and Community Counselors in the Capital District.

Our parent organizations are the NYCA and therefore the American Counseling Association.

NYCA is a strong proactive voice promoting counseling through a collaborative and supportive network for all professional counselors in New York State.

CDCA Officers 2008-09

The mission of the New York Counseling Association is to:

  • Promote respect for human diversity and enhance human development throughout the lifespan by promoting the counseling profession.

  • Promote the development of professional counselors in New York State.

  • Provide the link to the American Counseling Association for the counseling professions/associations in New York State

  • Promote public recognition of the counseling profession.

  • Provide organizational, administrative, and financial resources to achieve the association mission.
